Product Review: Smart Beat Infant Monitor

As a new mom, and even as a not-so-new mom, we all want the best for our babies and to make sure that they are safe. Smart Beat kindly sent me this infant monitor and I have put it to great use over the past few months. Smart Beat is the Rolls Royce of infant monitors — it easily hooks up to your WiFi and monitors your baby’s breathing without having to attach any device to your little one.

The Smart Beat Monitor comes with:

  • Camera
  • Mounting kit
  • Base station
  • Power cords
  • Network cable
  • Instructions

I was so impressed to see that literally everything was included in the box with Smart Beat. Mounts and anchors were even included in case you wanted to mount your monitor to the wall! Set up was fairly easy. Smart Beat comes with a base station that connects to your wifi router. You simply download the app on your phone, turn on your camera and follow the instructions. I set up my monitor in about 10 minutes.

I really like the Smart Beat monitor because it allows me to feel at ease when I lay Stella down for a nap because I don’t have to continuously watch the screen to see if her chest is moving (I know I am not the only mama that does this!). Smart Beat simply updates everything on your app including breaths per minute, pause in breathing and any kind of movement can easily be seen.

Another feature that I like with this monitor compared to others that I have used is that there isn’t a charger. Since everything works directly through the app, you don’t have to worry about changing batteries or the of carrying another USB charger around.

I have not tried out Smart Beat on any other WiFi besides in my own home, but I feel like the set up is convenient enough that it would be very easy to travel with.

Overall Mamas, I am going to say the Smart Beat is a must have for me. It works as a two-in-one infant monitor and breath detector without the fuss of having to attach something to your baby that might come loose or fall off. Smart Beat gives me peace of mind and lets us all rest a little easier each night.
